G.D BRANCHES CLOSE-UP
Coesia's new branch in Pune has been strategically positioned at the heart of
India's technological and scientific research industries, with the goal of
integrating the experience of the Group's companies to deal with a changing
market
In January 2011, Coesia opened a new branch in
Pune, in the technological heartland of India, with
the aim of supporting other Coesia Group
companies operating in the strategically crucial
Indian market, including G.D, Volpak, Acma and
GDM. This branch is one of the first to be created
specifically to fulfil one of Coesia's primary
objectives: to better exploit the opportunities offered
by potential synergies between its component
companies, in order to be able to meet the
requirements of diversified clients in ever better
ways. In coming years, the Group intends to focus
on pooling the experience from its different sectors
and on improving its ability to transfer and integrate
those skills to create technological innovation.
This
will be one of the key aspects of Coesia's strategy
to consolidate its global technological leadership
through its presence in the most important local
markets. The opening of the Indian branch also aims
to reinforce one of the Group's hallmarks, namely its
ability to work directly with its client companies, to
listen to their requirements and to develop new
solutions to meet their specific needs.
The plants
will contain offices and the machine assembly areas
where 40 highly qualified technicians will work.
"Pune is the centre of the Indian automotive
industrial region," explains Vinayak Savadi, branch
manager, "and is therefore a technological hub
where we can find partners and skilled personnel of
the kinds we need." As far as G.D is concerned, the
main services that this branch can offer - in a
market where the company is consolidating a long
and successful presence - will be servicing carried
out by Indian technicians, spare parts, machinery
refurbishment operations in client plants and
complete machinery rebuilding in its own plant.
Gabriele Brumali, G.D's local technical director, will
be responsible for training technical staff and
overseeing the rebuilding of the packer lines. He
explains: "This branch will train its personnel to the
same technical standards as those required at
company headquarters, so that they can operate
and serve our clients in total autonomy.
The
presence of Indian technicians will mean quicker
and better understanding of the specific
requirements of our customers." In recent years,
Volpak has notably reinforced its presence on the
Indian market, installing lines for a range of
functions and sectors - from machinery for
packaging sauces and drinks for the food industry to
packaging machinery for the cosmetics, chemical
and pharmaceutical industries. Now, thanks to the
opening of the new Coesia branch in Pune, Volpak
can offer improved sales, technical and maintenance
services to its clients. After an active plan identifying
the supplier chain, training the technicians for
machine assembly and set up, Volpak will start
producing machines in India.
Acma, on the other
hand, intends to exploit synergies with Volpak's
manufacturing platform in order to consolidate its
market presence through the production and sale of
lines for making sweets and chocolate and for
liquidfilling, especially in the booming personal care
sector. For GDM - the Coesia company that
specialises in the hygiene disposables sector
(machines for the production of sanitary napkins and
diapers) - the Indian market offers the opportunity
to introduce a new machine that is simpler to use
and is equipped with a specific customer service
programme (remote monitoring, spares
management, preventive maintenance) aimed at
supporting the clients production needs more
effectively. In the context of such a wide range of
sectors, the new Coesia India branch will be able to
supply solutions both on a technical level and in
terms of customer service, also thanks to the
integration of the multiple professional
competencies present within the Group.
