GDM, a company of Coesia Group, has been awarded with Accusentry the prize for Innovation at the Index11 trade fair in Geneva for its Single Culling System which efficiently detects and rejects faulty products. Based on an electronic eye, a robot arm and a smart system (with a specific software), the system is able to carry out high-speed, full quality control on every product and to cull the faulty ones in specifically targeted mode. Rejects are thus drastically reduced. In addition, the Single Culling System has been integrated so well into the control mechatronics that it knows exactly which information and messages must be sent to enable the line to correct its operating parameters.
The new Single Culling System is one of the tools of GDM's new strategy aimed at achieving savings in all areas: preventing or reducing rejects, adapting lines to work with variable materials, preventing or minimising machine down-time, and helping operators to run production lines efficiently.
